Here's an update on the Saturday, September 15 card at the ABC Sports Complex in Springfield, VA.
The intriguing junior welterweight matchup between Dean "Pit Bull" White and Jaime "The Punisher" Palma is still on as the main event.
Also, the battle of the aged is still there as Willie "The Heat" Taylor comes out of retirement to face Derek Amos.
Other matchups include one that should also be interesting as undefeated junior middleweight Todd "White Lightning" Wilson battles Edward "Nuckie" Anderson.
Also, Andre "Clockwork" Nichols will take on the debuting Travis Mallin. And the fighting Haggler Brothers from Woodbridge, VA will be on the card. Joe Haggler is scheduled to take on "The Polish Warrior" Drew Wion while Jonathan Haggler (17-1, 12 KO's) is still looking for an opponent.
Also slated to be on this card are Terry "T-Brick" Roy and the returning "Sparkplug" Tommy Neal.
By the way, many of the boxers slated for this card will be appearing at the grand opening festivities of a new gym in the Beltway -- The East-West Gym and Fitness Center located at 44710 Cape Court in Ashburn, VA.
The gym is run by Asim Hanif, a two-time world kickboxing champion and a certified instructor in the martial art of Aikido. Hanif is also the father of Andre Nichols and Nichols is scheduled to join Terry Roy and The Haggler Brothers, as well as Andrew "Doo Man" Farmer, "Cold Blood" Patrick Budd and "Dangerous" Dana Dunston in public workouts as part of the grand opening on Saturday, September 8. The doors open at 10:30 AM. The public boxing workout will begin at 12:30. There will be a kickboxing class at 11 AM and an Aikido session at 2 PM.
Is Andrew Farmer going to be on the
ReplyDeleteSeptember 15 Card? I Heard he has been ill.
That is true. Andrew has been ill and that's why he was not on the Ocean City card last week as scheduled.
ReplyDeleteI'm not exactly sure what the ailment is, nor am I sure if he will be on the Sept. 15 card.
I bet you 10 to 1 he'll be on the show against a bum that no other state except VA would pass. He'll get a good record alright, but he'll never learn to be a good fighter. Like father, like son.
ReplyDeleteI find it odd, that you ask About andrew Farmer, then insult him and his family. It takes alot to do something you truly love to do, and although I do not know you either, you sound as if you have some sort of animostity toward the Farmer family, and the sport that they truly love and enjoy. I do not know the Farmer's either, but I do know that it takes alot for those people to do what they do. They do it out of love and respect for the sport. Look where the fight is taking place, there is no real money being earned, yet they still do it. I truly hope that Andrew is on the card, I truly hope that he continues to add to his victory column, no matter the caliber of his competition, and most of all, I wish him opportunity to open up doors for the future. It is easy to sit on the outide, and comment about someone on the inside. I wish everyone partaking on the card that night nothing but happiness and prosperity, doing what they truly enjoy
ReplyDeleteAlso, Andrew has been itching to test the waters and NOT fight solely on his father's cards. That's why I know he really wanted to be on the show in Ocean City.
ReplyDeleteAndrew would have fought a very good opponent in Ryan Belasco (now 5-1-1) out of Delaware on that card.
Dave B...Very eloquently stated! Left Hook Boxing has worked very hard this year to put on some well orchestrated, well attended fights. I look forward to their show on the 15th!
ReplyDeleteTo the miserable bastard making the negative comments what is your weight and are you willing to fight
ReplyDeleteanybody much less one of the Farmers?
Lets stop the low blows and pot shots and focus on the fights. I think the upcoming bout between White and Palma is a great match up and I think White still has enough in the tank to beat Palma. However, if Palma can stay away from White's power, he can win just as easily. Does anyone know anything about the Wilson kid? I heard he can fight a little, but I don't know much about his amateur career.
ReplyDeleteTodd wilson was a national collegiate champion at VMI.
ReplyDeleteHe's fast, has good power, and is awkward. His defense is hard to figure out and he throws punches from all angles.
Wilson is good but he's got a real fight on his hands with Edward Anderson. That guy is as tough as a junkyard dog! And he can punch, just ask Jaime Palma.
ReplyDeletedave b... you are too kind...
ReplyDeleteyou wish, "everyone partaking on the card that night nothing but happiness and prosperity", which is great...
But what about the rest of us not taking part on the card??? I feel totally rejected...
Boxingbible...Here's your answer brother...just take your sorry rejected ass home.
ReplyDeleteOUCH!!!!
