'Chop Chop' Corley Loses in Nicaragua!

Former WBO Junior Welterweight champion DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley lost by eighth-round TKO to Jose Alfaro last night in Managua, Nicaragua on the World Boxing Association "KO Drugs" card.

According to Fightnews.com, Corley actually dropped Alfaro in the first round, but Alfaro came back strong with a vicious body attack that sent Corley to the canvas in rounds six, seven and eight before the bout was halted.

Corley, who fought this bout at lightweight, falls to 31-6-1, 17 KO's. Alfaro, who had lost three of his last seven bouts, now has a record of 18-3, 17 KO's.

    I wonder if making the lightweight limit was a factor at all... His body was fit at 140, so it's hard to beleive he dropped an extra 5 pounds. Maybe you can get an interview so we can find out what happened. Hopefully it wasn't another situation like when he fought Cotto in Puerto Rico...
