Let me be honest, folks! I'm getting very tired of the Middendorf-bashing that has gone on as of late. Recent article posts have had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Chris Middendorf!! He was not involved in any way with the October 7 card! Yet people have taken this opportunity to bash him for no reason!
I'm even more tired of reading criticism by folks who don't have the GUTS to put their name behind it! That's not what this blog is intended for and I'm not putting up with it any longer.
Therefore, from this moment, all anonymous posts that bash Middendorf will be immediately deleted. If you have some evidence of something wrong he has done and will put your REAL name behind it, you may post and give Middendorf a chance to respond!
Otherwise, let me tell everyone what I have told a few folks: KEEP YOUR OPINIONS TO YOURSELF!!
Yeah, leave Chris alone already. Gary is right, and we all know he is a crook but prove it if he is. I did in many posts.
ReplyDeleteMr. Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteIf you proved it in many posts, then you should have no problem restating your "proof" and then putting your name behind it.
I'm awaiting your response and your proof.
Robert Arthur
Finally
ReplyDeleteThese ridiculous posts about chris will come to a end .. Alot of ya'll say alot of dumb things on here ,I think a good 40% of the people that leave comments about chris won't say it to the man face.
Don't get me wrong i ain't taking up for him but come on enuff is a enuff!
Then I seen somebody say vinson wouldn't fight mark at 115 everybody knows vinson always fought at 118 why should he kill his self to lose 3 pounds
For you local fighter dat down pooh for losing opn show time .. How many of ya'll fought on showtime before let see : Joppy , Holmes , green , mitchell, Andrew, both peterson brothers, eric Aiken i think reid did also is there anybody else dat I forgot
Thank you Gary! I'm just glad that you didn't take the whole comment section down. This is a great place for those of us without personal blogs to discuss DC professional boxing with others who share our enthusiasm, and it would be a shame if a few anonymous potshotters (or perhaps only one?)ruined this opportunity.
ReplyDeleteI hope that this policy gets extended to cover anybody who's subject to repeated, anonymous unsubstantiated attacks. But even more so, I hope that the policy never needs to be extended.
I echo Robert Arthur's curiousity about seeing the "many posts" by Mr. Anonymous with his "proof." He's likely a very busy man, and he doesn't even need to take the time to restate anything, just copy a weblink or two, as I seemed to have missed the original postings.
The reason many people wont put there names is not because they are scared of Chris physically, trust me. But because what-ever we say he is still a matchmaker and fighters do not want to be marked men and have a matchmaker against them. THats it coming from a fighter who will be anonymous.
ReplyDeleteEven X-fighters wont leave their name because as you know you can never count a fighter out. Boxing has the most comebacks, even with fighters who have been out the game for 20 years.
Gary I thought that what the blog is for. If he can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen.Do fighter's get mad at what you or other writer's no so why should you or he. It's a lot of truth in joke so let's all be men here and Gary that's what your page so good and that's why people look at BOXING ALONG THE BELTWAY. They can make comment's and don't have to use there name so what let people off there chest.
ReplyDeleteMan With the Plan:
ReplyDeleteNo, that is not what this blog is for. This blog is not for bashing folks unmercifully. This blog is supposed to give out information and give intelligent conversation about the boxing in this area.
What is happening is that a few folks are using this to air their personal situations and grudges against Chris. That's ridiculous.
I never criticize a boxer without facts and examples to back it up. Also, I never do it anonymously.
If you want to criticize the way a boxer performed in the ring or if you want to complain how a card went, I have no problem with that.
But people criticized Chris about the October 7 card, and he had nothing to do with it. That's when it gets excessive.
My thoughts of the comments made on and about chris can most likely be pinned to the following... fighters who feel that he didn't get them a fight or a fight that didn't turn out their way... rival jealous "folks" in the business... or those who just have no idea what they are talking about. Chris, like him or not, which I happen to have great amounts of respect for, is one of the finest matchmakers in the sport. Those that know, will agree hands down.
ReplyDeleteGary and Scott I agree with your.So people have their opionion so what let them get it of there mind or chest or whatever they are scared to use their name so what. That's how people do.They talk about people behind their back missery love company. Have you ever heard that.Gary when you get bigger in fight game the same is going to happen to you. See what they said about Joe,and Henry Jones. All's they did was do what they were paid to do. I gave up 30.000 dollars to fight here and people bad month me so what
ReplyDeleteGary and Scott
ReplyDeleteI believe there are many fighters and trainers who have a contrary position to Chris M. and Scott W. and let me say with good reason. It is the nature of the game that they would be generally speaking. Problem is they represent deferent interests. Chris M. as a match maker is interested in setting up competative fights at or before fight time. By the same token, Scott W. is interested in setting up barn burner fights that are exciting. The interest of the fighter is not a consideration. And they state this publicly and proudly. However, the trainer and fighter want to advance their carreers and not lose and get to that big pay day at the end of the rainbow. There are times when Chris and Scott pick an opponent that is good for the figher... and then everbody's interests are in sync, except the poor opponent who get whipped. But... We have to be very carefull when dealing with these two,,, I mean you have to keep your chin down and your hands up or out you go... These are the facts.... Honeycomb boxing gym in Baltimore
Well...Hmm...Well, on a brighter note, let's perhaps talk about something else.
ReplyDeleteWhen is the likeable 'Ding-a-Ling' man fighting next???
(Many good cruiserweight fights out there for Wilson!)
Cheers...
Brother Chin,
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your honesty as well as your intelligence on this situation. That's the type of discussion I like to see here.
Cruiser:
I know some bouts are being talked about with Darnell, but nothing concrete yet.
Gary - The cruiser division is one of my favorites. (Gee, as if the moniker didn't perhaps tell you that) besides being a cruiser-of-sorts myself, I compare them to the "Lt.Hvy's of yesteryear", and arguably the only TRULY needed addition to the original eight (weight) divisions. Anyways, there are a TON of potential fights out there for Wilson, and EXCITING ones that would provide a decent to good payday. Here is merely a couple I have in mind...
ReplyDeleteKelvin Davis. Could you imagine the 5'8" sparkplug Davis vs. the 5'10" Wilson? YIKES! Put it in the Ballroom, and put it on T.V or webcast!
There is a 35 yr.old chin-or-be-chinned hvy that has just moved down to 200.lbs named Herbie Hide. Once again - put it in the Ballroom!
(Alright...I'll ease back on the coffee folks...Sorry, I just dig the Ding-A-ling man, and am getting a pugilistic cruiserweight erection. Peace & respect all...)
