In my opinion, The Sun has done a lot better in its coverage of boxing over the years, especially since Lem became the boxing writer.
Unfortunately, as it is in most local papers, Lem doesn't cover boxing full-time. He is still on the high school beat, as well.
There is a new editor at the Sun who is fond of boxing and that has helped greatly. Usually when there is a Baltimore-area bout or someone from Baltimore boxing nearby, Lem is there.
Truthfully, DC's coverage of boxing is a whole lot worse! Neither the Post nor the Times or the Examiner seem to care about the DC talent. No paper sent reporters to last Friday's show at the Lincoln Theatre.
Yes, Lem is a good guy, but fat ass Dan Rafael never did anything for local boxing and he would take up two seats at the local fights but give zero coverage in USA Today.
