'Discombobulating' Jones Heads To China July 9!

DC Boxing Hall of Fame ring announcer Henry "Discombobulating" Jones is in Chengdu, China getting ready for a big assignment this weekend.  Jones will be the announcer for a Pacquiao Promotions card on Saturday, July 9 at the Sichuan Gymnasium.

Scheduled to be on the card is a 10-round bout for the vacant WBC Eurasia Pacific Boxing Council Welterweight Title between Rafik Harutjunjan of The Netherlands (9-0, five KO's) and Sonny Katiandagho of The Philippines (9-1, five KO's).

Also on the card is a female bout that includes someone who should be familiar to Beltway Boxing fans -- "Little Miss Tyson" Melissa St. Vil of Brooklyn, NY (7-2-3) will take on "La Super Baby" Katy Wilson Castillo of the Dominican Republic (18-1, 11 KO's) in a 10-round encounter.

St. Vil has fought twice at the Jonathan Ogden Foundation boxing event in Cockeysville, MD including in 2015 when she lost a 10-round decision to Jennifer Salinas in a bout that was named the Beltway Boxing Bout Of The Year.   Since that bout, St. Vil won the vacant WBC Silver Female Super Featherweight title in Auckland, NZ on April 16.  Castillo is the IBF Female Super Bantamweight champion.  No word if either title will be on the line in this contest.

Jones would like to thank all of his supporters for your support throughout his 28-year announcing career!
